Have yourself a heavy metal Christmas

DEE SNIDER

TWISTED SISTER
'A Twisted Christmas'

Rams Head Live
Baltimore, MD
December 22, 2006

By JEFF MAKI

'Twas four days before Christmas, when at Rams Head Live
Some metalheads were in for quite the surprise.
The beer and cigarettes were handled with care,
In hopes that a Twisted Christmas soon would be there.

The children were packed in, all snug on the floor,
While all types of rock fans rushed in through the door.
Dee Snider in his makeup, and Jay Jay French, too,
Playing holiday songs, both old and new.

When up on the stage there arose smoke and clatter,
I made my way up to see what the hell was the matter.
Through the crowd I flew like a flash,
I knew tonight would be a fuckin' blast.

The snow machine blew out the new-fallen snow,
Covering the club and all the hair below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But Dee Snider in a freakin' Santa suit and full '80s gear!

With his headbanging and fist pumping so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment this dragqueen wasn't St. Nick.
Half a song in, the Santa suit was out,
Just in time to hear Dee shout,

"Silver Bells," "I'll Be Home For Christmas" and "Oh Come All Ye Faithful," too!
And let's not forget "Burn In Hell" and "I Wanna Rock," Twisted classics, for me and you.

30 years of metal is a remarkable feat,
And even now, these iron men don't miss a beat.
The crowd stayed hungry the whole fucking show,
Even through a few songs they didn't seem to know.

Dee Snider was a right jolly old elf.
I laughed when I saw him, despite being pretty drunk myself!
Mascara 'round his eyes and the banging of his head,
It appears he wants to be in Twisted Sister until he's dead.

What a great fucking way to close out the year,
Thanks to Twisted Sister for bringing Twisted cheer!
I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical at the thought in my head,
But after this performance, enough can't be said!

So "Stay Hungry," Dee and the boys, too,
We're all looking forward to a new album from you.
Dee is right, they make both Jesus and Satan proud,
Raw, in your face and freakin' loud!

Dee exclaimed, "We're not gonna take it!" as they closed the show right,
"A heavy metal Christmas to all and to all a metal night!"
