SEVENDUST
It might have been mid-April, but inside the Crocodile Rock Café it felt like the heart of summer. The warriors braving the sweltering heat: Lajon Witherspoon, Morgan Rose, John Connolly, Vinnie Hornsby and Clint Lowery, collectively known as Sevendust.

AIRBOURNE
If you’re trying to find the next great rock n’ roll band, you can end your search now. They have come to these shores from Australia and they’re called AIRBOURNE. Despite what you might think or what others might tell you, rock n’ roll is alive and well. As proof, I offer Airbourne’s performance at a sold-out Recher Theatre in Towson, Md.

ALL THAT REMAINS/CHIMAIRA
In the two years since the release of their breakthrough album, The Fall of Ideals, ALL THAT REMAINS has ascended to headliner status and made itself a household name in metal. The album surpassed the 100,000 mark in U.S. sales in June 2007, a huge feat for a metal band in a climate of declining CD sales and a dying record industry. They have been on the road almost nonstop since the album's release. Their show at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C., was their second-to-last stop before heading home to write their eagerly anticipated follow-up.

TESLA
The temperature outside might have been below freezing, but it was scorching hot inside Piere's Entertainment Center in Fort Wayne, Ind., with a packed floor and upper deck. Tesla was hitting the stage once again, stopping by on their world tour to rock the rafters.

HELLYEAH/MACHINEHEAD
What started as an excuse for a group of veteran rockers to have a little fun has taken on a life of its own and kept HELLYEAH on the road for nearly a year. On the heels of last fall’s “Balls, Volume and Strength” tour, the band is trekking across the country on the appropriately titled “More Balls, More Volume, More Strength” tour. And they’re bringing one of the very best American metal bands with them.

ACE FREHLEY
Naturally, Live-Metal.net jumped at the chance to attend the first show of ACE FREHLEY’s winter “Rocket Ride” tour, which is intended to precede the release of a new solo album in 2008. Opportunities to see a legend in such an intimate venue—Jaxx holds only a few hundred people—are few. Though not without the expected opening night hiccups, the performance showed Ace doesn't need to share the spotlight with anyone to entertain.
