Not one, but two tracks, “Now We Die” and the album version of “Killers & Kings” have leaked from Machine Head’s upcoming album, Bloodstone & Diamonds (Nov. 10, Nuclear Blast Entertainment) via an iTunes UK Pre-Order page. “Now We Die” can be streamed inside. Machine Head frontman Robb Flynn provided an explanation of the leaked tracks and how the band was going to handle it in his “THE GENERAL JOURNALS: DIARY OF A FRONTMAN… AND OTHER RAMBLINGS” blog which can be found on the band’s official website. Butcher Babies

Butcher Babies

It’s been a relatively fast rise for Butcher Babies. The quintet, fronted by eye-catching vocalists Carla Harvey and Heidi Shepherd, released its debut album, Goliath, in 2013 and already has done time on the road with Danzig, Marilyn Manson, Black Label Society, Down, Rob Zombie, Five Finger Death Punch and many more. Now, they’re about to unleash Uncovered, an EP showing a truly eclectic range of roots and influences, and embark on their first headlining tour. Carla recently checked in with Live Metal’s Greg Maki to talk about those two exciting happenings, as well as her new book (Death & Other Dances) and more. (more…)

ROTR14_RighteousVendetta10

Ryan Hayes of Righteous Vendetta performs on the Ernie Ball Stage at Rock on the Range 2014, Columbus, Ohio

Maybe I didn’t pay enough attention to a band we interviewed earlier in the year, Righteous Vendetta. At the time, they were a little-known Christian metalcore-style band that I saw open the Ernie Ball stage (view live photos) at the 2014 Rock on the Range festival in Columbus, Ohio (May 16 to 18). Though they were a memorable live act and tight musically, this just wasn’t the kind of band I thought would start to blow up so quickly. Plus, they are a Christian band, often a death sentence for a band in the metal world. But since my introduction, Righteous Vendetta has started to make a name for itself, having toured with Trapt and currently out supporting Eyes Set to Kill and Nonpoint. After that tour, they’ll join Thousand Foot Krutch, We as Human and Like a Storm starting Oct. 12 through Nov. 9. They also just released an EP called Defiance (featuring “Take Over”) and have a hit radio single on Octane in”This Pain.”

So with all that said, let’s unveil this interview we did with vocalist Ryan Hayes earlier in the year. We better do it now before Righteous Vendetta blows up anymore and no one believes we met them first. In the interview, we talk about the bad rap given to “Christian” rock and how they plan to change it. (more…)

Devil You Know, the creative union of Howard Jones (ex-Killswitch Engage), Francesco Artusato (All Shall Perish) and John Sankey (Devolved), have posted an official lyric video for the track “My Own,” which can be viewed inside. The song comes on the cusp of their upcoming tour with Lacuna Coil (view dates here), which kicked off this Sunday at the Aftershock festival in Sacramento, CA. The track is taken from their recently released debut album The Beauty of Destruction (review), which was released last April via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. (more…)

amaranthe-band-drop-dead-cynical
A mere week after premiering the brand new song “Drop Dead Cynical,” the first sonic taste of the new album Massive Addictive, due out October 21 via Spinefarm Records, Amaranthe have followed up by debuting the accompanying and thoroughly majestic video for the song. It’s epic and visually arresting. Seriously, this is one video you do not want to miss because it is over the top in all the right ways. There’s more than a dozen MMA fighters, cheerleaders and lots and lots of pyro. That all adds up to one helluva an Amaranthe experience. Watch the video inside. (more…)

On September 14, ten years ago, Megadeth’s tenth studio album The System Has Failed was released. In honor of that day, the band has posted a previously unreleased video of the track “Back In the Day”. This video was produced in 2005 and not released until now. Check it out inside. (more…)
