Behemoth: Devil’s Conquistadors by Łukasz Dunaj serves as the definitive Behemoth biography. The book, officially blessed, or rather damned, by Behemoth, serves as an in-depth look at the history of the events that materially influenced the band. As Dunaj points out in the introduction, this isn’t, “Poland’s response to Motley Crue’s biography The Dirt.” Behemoth: Devil’s Conquistadors is the story of Behemoth, its music, its ultimate rise to the upper echelon of metal and becoming a household name in its native homeland, Poland.

20150103020032!Marilyn_Manson_-_The_Pale_EmperorReview by Greg Maki
—–
After 20-plus years of fame and even more infamy, Marilyn Manson has arrived at perhaps the most interesting point of his career yet. “That P.T. Barnum aspect of Marilyn Manson has sort of evaporated,” he told Rolling Stone in a recent interview. So what does that leave?

It is a question with which Manson seemingly has been struggling for several years now (bottoming out with 2009’s The High End of Low), his apparent boredom with being Marilyn Manson mirroring the vast majority of the public’s disinterest in his music and his latest antics. Born Villain (2012) saw him rekindle some of his past self—artistically, though it made barely a ripple in the pop culture consciousness.

So now, at 46, on his ninth studio album, The Pale Emperor, Manson at long last has started to reveal that beneath the makeup, and years of controversy and outrageous rumors, there is a man—a man who still has some strong opinions (particularly when it comes to America’s gun culture) and a wicked sense of humor, but also one who has started to chip away at the walls he’s built around himself. Predictable?  Never.  Menacing?  Always. Emmure have delivered “A Gift A Curse”, the fourth video from the album Eternal Enemies, available now. Aside from its technical mastery, the futuristic and mind-bending sequences propose the death of art.  From the crumbling of the David Statue and the always enraged lyrics of Emmure, “A Gift A Curse” moves along like an ballistic missile, leaving little time to interpretation. Watch “A Gift A Curse” inside.
