Gojira has debuted the official music video for “The Cell,” which is featured on its critically adored new LP, Magma. The video, directed by Drew Cox, sees Gojira delivering a pummeling, dynamic performance captured by a thermal-imaging camera. Seether, (Shaun Morgan—vocals/guitar; Dale Stewart—bass/vocals; and John Humphrey—drums) will return on May 12 with its seventh full-length studio album, titled Poison the Parish. It will he first release via Morgan’s new label imprint, Canine Riot Records.

Alter Bridge has added a new U.S. leg to its The Last Hero tour this spring, in addition to its previously announced music festival appearances. The band will be joined at the new headline dates by In Flames on all of the dates beginning May 2, and Metal Church will play the same dates with the exception of the show at the Dream Makers Theatre in Sault Saint Marie, Michigan on May 16. Korn

Korn announced Tuesday (Feb. 21) that they’re embarking on U.S. spring headlining tour. The band will do eight spring dates in support of new album The Serenity of Suffering. Dates include stops at the Fillmore in Silver Spring, Maryland, and Minglewood Hall in Memphis, Tennessee. Instrumental progressive band Animals as Leaders and alt-metal act DED will provide support. Shaun Morgan of Seether

Multi-platinum rockers Seether have announced the fifth annual Rise Above Fest, with some new developments. Due to popular demand, the multi-stage music festival has expanded to two days for the first time in its history.

Rise Above Fest, which supports suicide prevention and mental illness, is the largest suicide awareness music event in the world.

This year’s Rise Above Fest is set for Saturday, July 22, and Sunday, July 23. The event will return to Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion in Bangor, Maine.

The 2017 Rise Above fest lineup is a veritable “who’s who” of rock music, with Korn set to headline Saturday night, alongside Seether, Stone Sour, Skillet, Falling in Reverse and more. Shinedown will close Sunday night’s festivities, on a bill also featuring Halestorm, Theory of a Deadman, Hellyeah, and All That Remains, among others. (more…)


Ice-T’s Body Count is back and more vicious than ever. Their highly-anticipated new full-length album, Bloodlust, is set for a March 31st release via Century Media Records. The album follows 2014’s Manslaughter and features guest appearances by Dave Mustaine, Max Cavalera and Randy Blythe. As 2017 marks the year of the great return of Norwegian symphonic black metal giants, Dimmu Borgir, they will release their highly-anticipated double-DVD Forces Of The Northern Night on April 28th. Available in different formats, the release will contain two live rituals:

Their legendary concert in Oslo, showing Dimmu Borgir on stage with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra and a bombastic choir as well as the entire performance at Wacken Open Air with almost 100 musicians in action.

Metallica today announced its WorldWired 2017 North American tour in support of its new album, Hardwired … to Self-Destruct. The WorldWired 2017 tour is produced by Live Nation and kicks off on May 10 in Baltimore, Maryland, at M&T Bank Stadium. The tour will crisscross its way across North America into the summer, marking the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees and Grammy Award-winning band’s first proper North American tour since 2009. Avenged Sevenfold and Volbeat will be the main support acts for the tour run. The daily band lineups have been revealed for the 11th annual Rock on the Range, America’s premier rock festival, May 19, 20 and 21 at Mapfre Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. Tickets for Rock on the Range sold out in record time, just over one month after going on sale, marking the fifth consecutive advance sellout for the festival.

Amaranthe

Amaranthe will kick off their North American headline tour in support of their latest album Maximalism (read review) on February 10 in Houston. The opening acts are Failure Anthem, Citizen Zero, Cypher 16, and Smash Into Pieces. The trek winds through the U.S. and Canada, wrapping on March 11 in Reading, Pennsylvania. To herald the fact that they will be crashing the U.S. shores once again, the band has released the new video for “Boomerang.” Watch it and check ou tour dates inside! The single day band lineups have been announced for the third annual Northern Invasion—Saturday, May 13, and Sunday, May 14 at Somerset Amphitheater in Somerset, Wisconsin—and single-day tickets go on sale next Monday, Feb. 13.
