Metallica today announced its WorldWired 2017 North American tour in support of its new album, Hardwired … to Self-Destruct. The WorldWired 2017 tour is produced by Live Nation and kicks off on May 10 in Baltimore, Maryland, at M&T Bank Stadium. The tour will crisscross its way across North America into the summer, marking the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees and Grammy Award-winning band’s first proper North American tour since 2009. Avenged Sevenfold and Volbeat will be the main support acts for the tour run. Following last week’s release of the 2017 Rock on the Range lineup, the lineups for three more festivals in next spring’s World’s Loudest Month festival series–Carolina Rebellion, Welcome to Rockville and Fort Rock–have been announced. Headliners include Soundgarden, Def Leppard and Avenged Sevenfold. louder-than-life-logoBand performance times and the official festival Pre-Party have been announced for the third annual LOUDER THAN LIFE, October 1 & 2, 2016 at Champions Park near downtown Louisville. The annual destination festival celebrates the region’s culture and cuisine, and features award-winning bourbons and spirits, Gourmet Man Food, craft beer and some of the biggest names in rock music.

LOUDER THAN LIFE 2016 features Slipknot and Avenged Sevenfold–headlining together for the first time ever–topping a mindblowing music lineup of over 35 bands onthree stages, with performances from Disturbed, Korn, Slayer, The Cult, Ghost, Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Cheap Trick, Pierce The Veil and many more.

LOUDER THAN LIFE attendees will have the chance to meet some of their favorite musicians during signings hosted by The Music Experience, FYE and Monster Energy. Check for signing times.

The weekend gets underway on Friday, September 30 with the official LOUDER THAN LIFE Pre-Party at the Fourth Street Live! entertainment complex with LOUDER THAN LIFE band Them Evils, along with some of the best local rock bands from the Louisville area. Band performance times have been announced for the second annual Monster Energy Rock Allegiance, Saturday, September 17 and Sunday, September 18 at Talen Energy Stadium in Chester, PA, just outside of Philadelphia.

Monster Energy Rock Allegiance will feature a lineup of over 35 bands on three stages, led by rock heavyweights Avenged Sevenfold and Alice In Chains, along withSlayer, The Offspring, Breaking Benjamin, Volbeat and many more. In addition to three stages of top rock bands, Monster Energy Rock Allegiance features a craft beer and Gourmet Man Food experience celebrating what makes Philadelphia cuisine famous, unique and delicious. Monster Energy Rock Allegiance will return to Talen Energy Stadium (formerly PPL Park) in Chester, Pennsylvania, just outside Philadelphia, on Sept. 17 and 18 with a lineup of more than 35 bands on three stages, led by Avenged Sevenfold and Alice in Chains, along with Slayer, The Offspring, Breaking Benjamin, Volbeat and more. The festival is expanding to two days this year, after its single-day debut in 2015 broke Talen Energy Stadium’s previous attendance high by nearly 10,000 people, with more than 26,000 total in attendance. Avenged Sevenfold, 2003

Avenged Sevenfold have debuted its new video for “Chapter Four” from the re-release of Waking The Fallen, titled Waking The Fallen: Resurrected (currently positioned at No.38 on the Billboard Top 200). The video features archived live footage of the band and can be viewed inside. This was the song that originally made me an A7X fan, even after I heard it a thousand times while playing NHL 2004 on Playstation. (more…)

Celebrating its eighth annual installment, the three-day Rock on the Range festival in Columbus, Ohio, is a lot to endure, but endure we did. Whether you were there as one of the 105,000 diehard rock fans of the sold-out event or, like us, to interview bands and take up shop in the photo pit, you were part of it. If you were kneeling over in the concourse as a casualty of consuming too much alcohol, if you were experiencing your first rock festival or if you were making it your personal campaign for the legalization of marijuana, you were part of it, as well. This one is history. And yes, we’re still looking for some of us.

Now that you’ve had a chance to read my preview I posted days ago, accounting some of the highlights of the long weekend, let’s talk about the actual live performances from a few of the 60 bands on the bill. (more…)

CONCORD, N.C. — Monster Energy’s Carolina Rebellion celebrated its fourth year with record-breaking attendance of over 60,000 during the May 3 and 4 festival at Rock City Campgrounds at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

The Mid-Atlantic’s biggest rock festival featured performances from Avenged Sevenfold and Kid Rock, along with Rob Zombie, Five Finger Death Punch and many more. For fans with camping or hotel packages, the weekend kicked off with the Friday Night Campground Party, presented by Bud Light and The FOX in Charlotte.
