Stitched Up Heart

Stitched Up Heart, formed in 2010 in Los Angeles, is coming off the biggest year of its career. 2016 saw the release of Never Alone, its first full-length album (via Century Media Records); two singles (“Finally Free” and “Monster”) charting at active rock radio; and months of touring, including stops at major U.S. festivals such as Carolina Rebellion and Rock on the Range. The band is riding that success into 2017, with a new single and video (“Catch Me When I Fall”); tours with Lacey Sturm and Letters from the Fire;, a break from the road to work on new material on the horizon; and then more live shows–”Living the dream,” as vocalist Alecia “Mixi” Demner said. Before a recent show at the Chameleon Club in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Mixi and guitarist Merritt Goodwin sat down with Live Metal’s Greg Maki to talk about touring, Never Alone and more. (more…)

Jason Charles Miller

Jason Charles Miller

Multi-faceted musician/performer Jason Charles Miller has signed with Century Media Records. A veteran artist with more than two decades of work to his credit, Miller is best known in the music world as the frontman and founding member of the industrial rock outfit Godhead but has established himself in recent years as a solo artist and sought-after songwriter and producer.

“I couldn’t be happier to have a home at the Century Family,” Miller said. “Participating as a songwriter with several acts on the label for the past few years has given me a unique look into the company and how they do business. The staff at Century dedicates themselves to their acts with passion, conviction, devotion and sweat. I can’t wait to work with everyone there and get some great things done.”

Arch-Enemy-War-EternalReview by Jeff Maki
We have covered Arch Enemy extensively over the years and even developed a relationship with the band’s founder and guitarist, Michael Amott. He’s been featured on Live Metal so much that we’ve joked that he should have his own column. We are also fans and I consider the band’s Wages of Sin and Anthems of Rebellion albums two of my favorites of the extreme metal genre. When Angela Gossow replaced original vocalist Johan Liiva in 2000, she and Arch Enemy paved the way for female vocalists fronting extreme music. She can be considered a pioneer now in that aspect. Yes, she wasn’t the first, but she did become one of the most well known and admired, while Arch Enemy became one of the most recognizable bands in its subgenre. So earlier this year, when it was announced Angela was  stepping down as vocalist to concentrate on her career as a manager, I was surprised and the metal community was shocked. (more…)

Check out the second single/video for “You Will Know My Name” from Arch Enemy’s new release War Eternal. The clip was once again directed by the band’s long time friend and collaborator Patric Ullaeus. From the sound of these first two songs, it seems the band has gone back to a more stripped down, Wages of Sin style and we’re diggin’ it. Not to mention new front-woman Alissa White-Gluz. Check out the clip inside. (more…)
