Adrenaline Mob has announced its upcoming third studio album, We the People, which will be released June 2 on Century Media. The new record is the follow-up to 2014’s Men of Honor and will be the first to feature new drummer Jordan Cannata, as well as new bassist David Zablidowsky (of Trans Siberian Orchestra). Earlier this month, the band announced the addition of Cannata by sharing a video of the drummer exhibiting his phenomenal talent and swagger behind the kit, which can be viewed via the link below. Righteous Vendetta

Wyoming-based metalcore act Righteous Vendetta has announced the release of its forthcoming studio record, Cursed, on March 17 via Century Media Records. The new album was produced by Mitch Marlow (In This Moment, Stitched Up Heart) and is preceded by the band’s 2014 EP, Defiance.

The band released the following statement: (more…)

In This Moment’s debut album, Beautiful Tragedy, will be released on vinyl for the first time in February.

The album, released in 2007, reached No. 35 on Billboard’s Independent charts. In This Moment has gone to sell nearly half a million albums and, in 2014, released its major label debut, Black Widow, for Atlantic.

Though the band has risen to prominence on an electronic/industrial-tinged sound and an elaborate stage show, Beautiful Tragedy is a blend of metalcore and hard rock. From the lineup that recorded it, only vocalist Maria Brink and guitarist Chris Howorth remain in the band today. Read Live Metal’s review, originally published in March 2007, here. (more…)

Chris Jericho attained worldwide fame as a professional wrestler, but these days you’re much more likely to find him onstage fronting Fozzy—his hard rock/metal band that many might be surprised to know has been existence for more than 15 years—than you are inside the squared circle. Since Jericho and his bandmates made Fozzy their priority circa Chasing the Grail (2010), the band has grown steadily, achieving its biggest success to date with its latest album, Do You Wanna Start a War, released in July 2014 via Century Media Records and featuring the hit single “Lights Go Out.” Jericho recently called in to chat with Live Metal’s Greg Maki about the making of the new record and more. Lacuna Coil will continue its world tour in support of its latest Century Media release, Broken Crown Halo, this fall with dates in the United States and Canada. This will be the Italian band’s second North American run on this album cycle. Devil You Know is set to support the entire tour. Starset also will appear from Sept. 23 to Oct. 12,  except Oct. 7 and 8, when Unlocking the Truth will join for those two nights. Up-and-coming Canadian band Incura has been added to all Canadian shows. The tour will kick off in Sacramento at this year’s Aftershock Festival. (more…)

Old-school Lacuna Coil fans, you might want to come back now. Ever since the Italian band’s Comalies broke in America in 2004, the haunting, gothic sounds that gave it such a unique flavor have drifted further away with each subsequent release. That brings us to Broken Crown Halo, Lacuna Coil’s seventh full-length studio album. (more…)

Silent Civilian: Scary stories to tell in the dark

It has not been easy, but Jonny Santos has persevered. Though he is the only remaining original member, Silent Civilian is going stronger than ever, with an amazing new album, Ghost Stories, in stores and, for the first time, an apparently stable lineup. He’s also completed a new Spineshank album that should be released in the fall. The rest of 2010 should include plenty of time on tour with both Silent Civilian and Spineshank. For now, though, his attention is fully on Silent Civilian, wrapping up a tour with Fear Factory and Prong, then playing a few weeks of headlining dates. At a recent tour stop at Jaxx in Springfield, Va., Santos sat down before the show with Live Metal’s Greg Maki. (more…)

You could call Blessed by a Broken Heart’s music cheesy, goofy or silly, but I think this sextet from Montreal would take it as a compliment.

Don’t get the wrong idea; this band has loads of talent, especially lead guitarist Shred Sean. They’re fairly heavy at times, too, mostly when frontman Tony Gambino spits out lyrics hardcore-style. But it’s tempered by a glossy ‘80s sheen courtesy of keyboardist Simon Fox, drums from Da Bird that sometimes have an electronic feel, and lyrics and melodies that want nothing more than to be the soundtrack to your next party or maybe a montage in an ‘80s action movie in which the cops’ investigation leads them to a strip club (don’t they always?). suicide-silence-the-cleansingThe Cleansing is an appropriate title for the new album by Riverside, Calif., band Suicide Silence. The album is a brutal, thrashing, holocaust of an album that rampages its way through its 12 tracks. The title is also an apt description because the album dabbles in every conceivable subgenre of metal: gore, grind metal, thrash, noisecore, doom, you name it. (more…)
