In March 2018, Nightwish will begin their 9-month-long ‘Decades: World Tour 2018’ starting with 34 shows in North America. Nightwish will have a very special set list for the tour, featuring rarely heard material from the earlier era, and excitingly for both band and fans, they will revisit the old songs with some new twists. This set list will be a “one-off” and only performed on this ‘Decades: World Tour.’ View inside for tour dates and ticket information! “Floor’s Gone Wild!”

Floor Jansen is best known for her work as lead vocalist of the Dutch symphonic metal band After Forever, one of the originals of the subgenre, whose sound is imitated by many today. Along with The Gathering and Within Temptation, After Forever brought female-fronted metal and all its gothic lust, lovelorn and medievalist style to unsuspecting ears of metal fans looking for the next big thing. Musically, many of these bands started as beauty and the beast, but beauty eventually banished the beast back from whence he came. AfterForever-AfterForeverAfter Forever is a female-fronted Dutch metal act featuring all the key ingredients of the ever-growing subgenre. Of course, you have your beautiful frontwoman, Floor Jansen, whose vocal chords are powerful and operatic, and above all, loud. Jansen leads the band on their self-titled fifth album, often trading off vocal parts with growls from guitarist Sander Gommans, creating a now common “beauty and the beast” formula. The sticking point here is their choice to record with a real orchestra. The end result is an enormous, triumphant feat. (more…)
