Superjoint will take on part two of its Caught up in the Gears of Application U.S. live takeover later this month. The tour will make its way west from San Antonio, Texas, in mid-April through mid-May, with additional dates to be announced in the coming weeks. Support will be provided by Motor City thrashers Battlecross and noise rock eccentrics/Housecore labelmates Child Bite, also of Detroit, who both trekked out with the band during the first leg of the tour in January. See all confirmed performances below.

Superjoint recently played the For the Sick Benefit, a three-day festival-style event organized for Eyehategod frontman Mike IX Williams, who underwent a liver transplant last December. Check out some live footage of the band at THIS LOCATION, where you also can view the band’s recently issued video for “Caught up in the Gears of Application.” (more…)

Anselmo & the Illegals. An all-out metallic assault that defies categorization, the record is a powerful statement that Anselmo remains a strong, vital force in today’s metal scene. When his inaugural tour with the Illegals came to the Fillmore in Silver Spring, Md., Greg Maki of Live Metal sat down with Anselmo backstage to discuss the new album, his upcoming autobiography and more. ArsonSince his Pantera days, Phil Anselmo has been a part of several, if not dozens of bands and musical projects—so much so that he has now formed his own label, Housecore Records, to release the material he’s been stockpiling. The labels’ first release comes from his latest project, Arson Anthem. This is also the first official release I know of featuring Anslemo on guitar rather than vocals. Mike Williams of Eyehategod is on the mic here. (more…)
