Gojira has debuted the official music video for “The Cell,” which is featured on its critically adored new LP, Magma. The video, directed by Drew Cox, sees Gojira delivering a pummeling, dynamic performance captured by a thermal-imaging camera. On the business side, it might be harder for a band to exist now than it ever has been. But in the world of hard rock and metal, that hasn’t stopped countless acts from releasing album after album of quality material. Anyone who says there’s no good music today hasn’t looked past the FM dial. The previous year was one of the strongest in recent memory, highlighted by a number of veteran acts releasing albums that stand up to the best of their impressive back catalogues and newer bands still carving out names for themselves. Gojira has garnered its first-ever Grammy nominations, earning nods for Best Metal Performance for its song “Silvera” and Best Rock Album for its new LP Magma at the 59th annual Grammy Awards.

We are honored and excited to receive our first Grammy nominations for Best Metal Performance and Best Rock Album of 2016,” the band said in a statement. “We want to thank the Gojira fans around the world who have continued to help us achieve many firsts with Magma. French metal outfit, Gojira have announced its new album, Magma, arriving June 17 via Roadrunner Records. The follow-up to 2012’s acclaimed L’enfant Sauvage, the new record was produced, mixed and engineered by the band. Gojira have also shared a music video for “Stranded,” Magma‘s first single. Directed by Vincent Caldoni, the sepia-toned video sees the band performing while a paint-covered dancer writhes and contorts on the ground.
