In March 2018, Nightwish will begin their 9-month-long ‘Decades: World Tour 2018’ starting with 34 shows in North America. Nightwish will have a very special set list for the tour, featuring rarely heard material from the earlier era, and excitingly for both band and fans, they will revisit the old songs with some new twists. This set list will be a “one-off” and only performed on this ‘Decades: World Tour.’ View inside for tour dates and ticket information! Sharon den Adel and Tarja Turunen

Tarja Turunen joined Dutch symphonic metallers, Within Temptation to perform “Paradise (What About Us?)” at Germany’s two-day M’era Luna festival which took place August 13-14. The bill also featured The Sisters of Mercy, Apocalyptica and many more. “Paradise (What About Us?)” was the lead single from Within Temptation’s sixth studio album, Hydra (2014). At the time, we described the album as a “best-of Within Temptation set,” that takes time to reflect but still sees the band “grow towards the future.” (Read review here.)

Tarja Turunen released her fifth studio album, a heavy rock album titled, The Shadow Self, on 5 August 2016.

The M’era Luna is a festival of goth, metal and industrial music. It is held annually on the second weekend of every August, in Hildesheim, Germany at Flugplatz Hildesheim-Drispenstedt, a former British Army airbase.

"Floor's Gone Wild!"

“Floor’s Gone Wild!”

Floor Jansen is best known for her work as lead vocalist of the Dutch symphonic metal band After Forever, one of the originals of the subgenre, whose sound is imitated by many today. Along with The Gathering and Within Temptation, After Forever brought female-fronted metal and all its gothic lust, lovelorn and medievalist style to unsuspecting ears of metal fans looking for the next big thing. Musically, many of these bands started as beauty and the beast, but beauty eventually banished the beast back from whence he came. There may have never been a “hottest chicks in metal” magazine had it not been for these bands. (more…)
