Buckcherry, a rock ‘n’ roll band best known for cocaine and crazy bitches, got serious on its 2013 release, Confessions, a concept album based on the Seven Deadly Sins. But the fun is back on its latest offering, an EP titled simply Fuck. All six songs have that popular four-letter word in their titles, including the first single, a rocked-up cover of the ubiquitous Icona Pop hit “I Love It,” rechristened “Say Fuck It.” The band is starting the promotion of the new release with a stint headlining the second stage of the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival, which also features Godsmack, Seether, Skillet and many more. When the tour came through Camden, New Jersey, Live Metal’s Greg Maki sat down with guitarist Keith Nelson to talk Fuck and more. (more…)

The Rockstar Energy Uproar Festival will kick off year five on Aug. 15 in Detroit with a lineup that includes multiplatinum main stage bands Godsmack and Seether,along with Skillet, Buckcherry, Pop Evil, Escape the Fate, Redlight King, 3 Years Hollow, Within Reason, New Medicine, Sons of Revelry (2013 Uproar Battle of the Bands winner), SuicideGirls burlesque show, These Raven Skies and Tattered.

Initial tour dates are listed below, and additional tour dates for the Aug. 15 to Sept. 21 trek will be announced soon. (more…)

In a lot of ways, the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival felt like the younger brother of the Mayhem Festival (also brought to you by Rockstar): fewer stages; fewer bands, most of which veer more toward hard rock than metal; and, at this stop of the tour at least, fewer people in attendance.
