Seether

Seether has released “Stoke the Fire,” the second track from its new, Poison the Parish, scheduled for a May 12 release via vocalist/guitarist Shaun Morgan’s new imprint, Canine Riot Records.

“Stoke the Fire” is available as an instant download for fans who pre-order the full album; find it here. Previewing the new album, Revolver stated, “In a time when it’s easy to tune out all the monotonous rock, Seether’s Poison the Parish proves the South African outfit still grooves, crushes and rocks harder than all.” Alternative Press said Poison the Parish is “a return to the darker and heavier style of music that Seether built their name upon.”

“Stoke the Fire” follows the new album’s lead single and video, “Let You Down,” which was released in February and is already top 10 at both Mainstream and Active Rock radio. (more…)

Seether has revealed details for the Poison the Parish world tour, which includes headline shows and festival appearances throughout the spring and summer. The extensive touring plans come in support of Poison the Parish, its recently announced seventh studio album, set for release via Canine Riot Records on May 12.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. local time Friday, March 3. Every ticket order will include a physical copy of Poison the Parish. Ticket and VIP package information can be found here.

“Goddamn, it’s good to be back!,” said Seether frontman Shaun Morgan. “We spent the better part of a year writing and recording Poison the Parish, and now it’s time to get out there and play that fucker to the fans. We’ve been working on some upgrades to the production and the live sound, which includes welcoming our brother, Clint Lowery (from fucking Sevendust!) into the fold to help us thicken up that live sound experience. Seether, (Shaun Morgan—vocals/guitar; Dale Stewart—bass/vocals; and John Humphrey—drums) will return on May 12 with its seventh full-length studio album, titled Poison the Parish. It will he first release via Morgan’s new label imprint, Canine Riot Records.

Multi-platinum rockers Seether have announced the fifth annual Rise Above Fest, with some new developments. Due to popular demand, the multi-stage music festival has expanded to two days for the first time in its history.

Rise Above Fest, which supports suicide prevention and mental illness, is the largest suicide awareness music event in the world.

This year’s Rise Above Fest is set for Saturday, July 22, and Sunday, July 23. The event will return to Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion in Bangor, Maine.

The 2017 Rise Above fest lineup is a veritable “who’s who” of rock music, with Korn set to headline Saturday night, alongside Seether, Stone Sour, Skillet, Falling in Reverse and more. Shinedown will close Sunday night’s festivities, on a bill also featuring Halestorm, Theory of a Deadman, Hellyeah, and All That Remains, among others. (more…)

Seether has announced the fourth annual Rise Above Fest will take place Saturday, Aug. 6, at Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion in Bangor, Maine. The lineup features Disturbed, Volbeat, Seether, Alter Bridge, Killswitch Engage, Hatebreed, Memphis May Fire, We Came as Romans, Beartooth, I Prevail and more to be announced.

Proceeds from the festival will go to SAVE (Suicide Awareness Voices of Education). The goal of the festival is to bring awareness to this global epidemic and reduce the stigma surrounding depression and mental illness. (more…)

Even at the early hour of 6:30, the Fillmore was mostly packed when Islander hit the stage, kicking off four and a half hours of music on this cold January night. The most important thing an opening act can bring to the stage is energy; even if your music is terrible, you at least can keep the audience occupied for the 30 minutes they must spend with you. Well, Islander’s music, which draws from both nu metal and hard rock, isn’t terrible, and the Greenville, South Carolina, band’s energy could not be contained by the limited stage space; frontman Mikey Carvajal made one of several trips into the crowd at the start of the second song. Starting in January, Seether and Papa Roach will team up for a month-long U.S. tour also featuring Kyng and Islander. The double bill will kick off Jan. 9 at Hard Rock Live in Orlando, Fla., and run through Feb. 7, when it will wrap at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
