Gojira has debuted the official music video for “The Cell,” which is featured on its critically adored new LP, Magma. The video, directed by Drew Cox, sees Gojira delivering a pummeling, dynamic performance captured by a thermal-imaging camera. Alter Bridge has added a new U.S. leg to its The Last Hero tour this spring, in addition to its previously announced music festival appearances. The band will be joined at the new headline dates by In Flames on all of the dates beginning May 2, and Metal Church will play the same dates with the exception of the show at the Dream Makers Theatre in Sault Saint Marie, Michigan on May 16. Korn

Korn announced Tuesday (Feb. 21) that they’re embarking on U.S. spring headlining tour. The band will do eight spring dates in support of new album The Serenity of Suffering. Dates include stops at the Fillmore in Silver Spring, Maryland, and Minglewood Hall in Memphis, Tennessee. Instrumental progressive band Animals as Leaders and alt-metal act DED will provide support. Metallica today announced its WorldWired 2017 North American tour in support of its new album, Hardwired … to Self-Destruct. The WorldWired 2017 tour is produced by Live Nation and kicks off on May 10 in Baltimore, Maryland, at M&T Bank Stadium. The tour will crisscross its way across North America into the summer, marking the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees and Grammy Award-winning band’s first proper North American tour since 2009. Avenged Sevenfold and Volbeat will be the main support acts for the tour run. Amaranthe

Amaranthe will kick off their North American headline tour in support of their latest album Maximalism (read review) on February 10 in Houston. The opening acts are Failure Anthem, Citizen Zero, Cypher 16, and Smash Into Pieces. The trek winds through the U.S. and Canada, wrapping on March 11 in Reading, Pennsylvania. To herald the fact that they will be crashing the U.S. shores once again, the band has released the new video for “Boomerang.” Watch it and check ou tour dates inside! Maria Brink

In This Moment has announced its 2017 “Half God Half Devil” U.S. headlining tour. The band will be hitting the road with Motionless In White, Avatar, and Gemini Syndrome as support this April and May. Pre-sales start tomorrow and general on-sale this Friday. The tour launches on April 7 in Milwaukee, Wis. with three festival dates (Fort Rock, Welcome to Rockville and Carolina Rebellion) included. Chino Moreno

Deftones and Rise Against have announced a joint tour for 2017. The bands will embark on dates around North America through June and early July, with Thrice supporting. Check out the full itinerary inside now. Deftones’ last album, Gore, arrived in 2016. Rise Against’s most recent album, The Black Market was released in 2014 debuting at No.1 on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums with 53,000 copies sold. (more…)

Overkill

Legendary New Jersey thrashers, Overkill, will unleash their upcoming 18th studio album, The Grinding Wheel, on February 10th, 2017 via Nuclear Blast. To date, the band has revealed a series of album trailers for the album discussing the artwork, lyrics, musical direction and much more. Today, the band revealed their fifth trailer in which vocalist Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth talks about his heavy metal charity organization “Rock Against Dystrophy.”

Starting April 30th, the trek also features select appearances by Amon Amarth at some of the nation’s premier music festivals: “Welcome to Rockville”, “Carolina Rebellion”, “Dark Lord Day”, “Northern Invasion”, and “Rock on the Range”. Metalcore forefathers Killswitch Engage and thrash legends Anthrax announced in December they will hit the road this spring to co-headline a 27-date North American tour, presented by SiriusXM. The bands’ itinerary alsowill include an April 15 appearance at the Texas Independence Festival in Austin, as well as each band headlining two solo shows separate from the double bill.

With Anthrax and KsE rotating the closing slot over the course of the dates, the tour will hit the ground on March 29 in Montclair, New Jersey, and then criss-cross the continent, wrapping up May 7 in Boston. The Devil Wears Prada will provide direct support on all dates. (more…)

Righteous Vendetta

Wyoming-based metalcore act Righteous Vendetta has announced the release of its forthcoming studio record, Cursed, on March 17 via Century Media Records. The new album was produced by Mitch Marlow (In This Moment, Stitched Up Heart) and is preceded by the band’s 2014 EP, Defiance.
