It had been more than two years since I had seen Amaranthe open for Within Temptation (read review), also in Baltimore, Maryland. Now, with the success of Massive Addictive and its most recent album, Maximalism, Amaranthe has graduated from opening act to headliner. This was the third to last show of its North American Maximalism Tour, which featured four bands in support. (more…)

Exodus-pleasures
There was some big breaking news out of the world of thrash metal today, news that I think a lot of fans will be pretty happy about.  As first reported by Blabbermouth.net (read here) and since made official, Rob Dukes has been replaced as vocalist of San Francisco Bay Area thrash metal veterans Exodus, by none other than Steve “Zetro” Souza. Zetro was the band’s vocalist from 1986 to 1993 and again from 2002 to 2004, and during his first run, Exodus found its biggest commercial success. (more…)
