The music lineup has been announced for Monster Energy Aftershock—California’s biggest rock festival—Saturday, Oct. 21, and Sunday, Oct. 22, at Discovery Park, near downtown Sacramento, California.

Nine Inch Nails, Ozzy Osbourne featuring Zakk Wylde, A Perfect Circle, Five Finger Death Punch, Run the Jewels, Stone Sour, Marilyn Manson and Mastodon top a bill of more than 35 artists performing on three stages. Tickets go on sale at noon PT Friday, June 9 (see below for details).

Maynard James Keenan said, “I’m delighted to be completing my musical trifecta by returning to the Aftershock festival with A Perfect Circle. Join us for a celebratory glass or three at the Caduceus Cellars & Merkin Vineyards Wine Garden all weekend long.”

Marilyn Manson said, “A perfect time in the world to share a stage with Ozzy. Here comes the storm.”

Ozzy Osbourne featuring Zakk Wylde, Prophets of Rage, Five Finger Death Punch, Rob Zombie and Incubus top the bill for the fourth annual Louder Than Life destination festival, Saturday, Sept. 30, and Sunday, Oct. 1, at Champions Park in Louisville, Kentucky.

Tickets go on sale at noon ET Friday, June 2, at www.LouderThanLifeFestival.com.

Rock legend Ozzy Osbourne—recently reunited with guitarist Zakk Wylde for the first time in over a decadeleads a Saturday bill that also features Five Finger Death Punch, Rob Zombie, Mastodon and many more. Zakk Sabbath, the Black Sabbath all-star cover band featuring guitarist/vocalist Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society, Ozzy Osbourne), bassist Blasko (Ozzy Osbourne, Rob Zombie) and drummer Joey Castillo (Danzig, Queens of the Stone Age, Bl’ast!), will release the limited edition Live in Detroit LP on June 16 via Southern Lord Recordings.

Preorders for Live in Detroit are available now via Southern Lord at this location.

The three tracks comprising Live in Detroit were captured at the band’s performance on Oct. 26, 2016, at tThe Fillmore in Detroit, Michigan. Southern Lord will release Live in Detroit as a one time, vinyl-only pressing in multiple color variants. Additionally, the band will have the Live in Detroit LP available for purchase throughout its upcoming tour (see dates below).

Zakk Wylde

Guitar icon Zakk Wylde has debuted the music video for “Lost Prayer,” from his latest solo album, Book of Shadows II. Directed by longtime collaborator Justin Reich, it is the second video from BOSII.

Last summer, Wylde released the “Sleeping Dogs” video, featuring Slipknot/Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor. That track has become the most successful active rock radio single of Wylde’s career, reaching number 15 in the U.S. and number five in Canada. (more…)

Zakk Wylde has announced a select number of meet-and-greet appearances surrounding the launch of Wylde Audio. Fans will have a chance to meet the metal icon in-store and test out his new line of Wylde Audio guitars and more.

Wylde chose to join forces with Guitar Center on a new line of guitars from his new company because he admired its commitment to encouraging new talent and supporting musicians of all skill levels and genres. Wylde’s new line of guitars includes three unique models (Odin, Viking and Warhammer) that are available at Guitar Center stores and online. To celebrate, the former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist and Black Label Society founder is heading out on the road this September to meet with fans at select Guitar Center stores across the country. Even as he built Black Label Society into the metal monster it is today, Zakk Wylde cultivated another side as a musician, mixing the occasional acoustic number or piano ballad among the Sabbath-esque riffs and face-melting guitar solos. He’s emphasized it more of late, first with the BLS Unblackened album and tour, and this year with his second solo release, 20 years after the first record bearing his name, appropriately titled Book of Shadows II.

On both Book of Shadows albums, Wylde leans into his love of Southern rock, with mellow, melancholy tunes that highlight him as a songwriter in addition to being one of the few remaining bona fide guitar gods. Yet lIke the Unblackened run last year, the tour supporting Book of Shadows II is anything but “unplugged.” (more…)

The album is coming 20 years after Wylde’s first solo release, Book of Shadows, which showcased his softer, Southern rock side. The cover artwork and track listing for Book of Shadows II can be seen below.
